I can't help but say, YESTERDAY WAS AWESOME! I mean, except for the getting yelled at when I finally got back to work.
We had a tour of the simulator building yesterday. It was meant to last 2 hours, we got back after 4 hours. The guy showed us the room with the computers that the workers can through all the twists at the astronauts while they are training. If its gone wrong before, they have to be able to deal with the same situation. Then he showed us the "motionless" simulator. Its used to learn the controls. You can land the "bird" but you don't feel anything different. It made me dizzy since I wasn't moving with it while watching someone else.
I took all kinds of pictures. I'll eventually do about this same entry on the adventure blog. and put the pictures up on photobucket. Just give me time.
But they let us do the "motion" simulator too! They sent us through an accent sequence. Its a sit back and watch. Its awesome! But then they also let us each try to land it! I was first up for my group. I thought for sure I would crash it. Yet, I landed that "bird"! And I landed the shuttle with little trouble. Its a "follow the diamond with the square" set up. When the instructor brought out our value print outs, he told me as he pointed out one value "Only pilots manage that kind of a value, you did a great job". He seemed rather happy I had done so well.
I was super excited! Though I got in trouble it had taken so long when I got back to work. I had a document that was rather important. Yet, the lady told me to go and enjoy. She was excited I got to land the simulator.
And at the end of the day, I got to talk Michelle into going to see Harry Potter. I rather loved the movie! So it was a great night. Late, but great. And its the first time I have ever walked to my car from work with my knife fully drawn and at the ready. I was the only one left in the parking lot that late, and the lights aren't great.
Oh, the smile on my face when I went to bed!
And my buddy is back again. Though we both hate what we get stuck with at times. I got handed a document today at 5pm and told it has be updated and back to someone by noon tomorrow and released by 5pm tomorrow. All I really like, is having at least 2 days to fix things like that. I hate that feeling of rush. Since I not only have that document but the other one I was working on, both due tomorrow! And the project update for the project I am basically updating on my own. All before noon! Can I please just curl up and cry now! But dinner in Alvin Texas at a BBQ place where its all you can eat seafood and warm cobbler! Woo!
:)
Feel free to text or call, I don't hear from anyone anymore.
